Simple oatmeal bars with peanut butter, honey, brown sugar, and a drizzle of melted chocolate over the top.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF degrees and line an 8×8 square baking dish with tin foil.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients, except the chocolate, in a large bowl. Scoop the oatmeal batter into the lined baking dish and press it into an even layer. Bake it at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, or until the edges start to brown. Remove from the oven. Remove the oatmeal bars from the pan and cool on a wire rack. Once cooled slice into bars.
  3. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments until melted. Drizzle the chocolate over the top of the bars.
