Easy Recipes that Never Feel Basic

Hi there, I’m April!
At Girl Gone Gourmet, you’ll find easy recipes that are simple to make but never feel basic. Whether you’re looking for a quick weeknight dinner, a cozy pasta recipe, a comforting soup, or an appetizer for your next gathering, my goal is to help you make delicious food without overcomplicating it.
I’ve been creating and testing recipes since 2009, and every recipe I share is developed for real home cooks. My recipes have been featured by BuzzFeed, Country Living, SELF, Chowhound, and other publications, and in 2018 I published my cookbook, Gourmet Cooking for One or Two: Incredible Meals that are Small in Size but Big on Flavor.
My Recipe Philosophy
I believe the best recipes are the ones you’ll make again and again. That’s why I create recipes that are simple, but never basic. If you’re looking for approachable recipes made with everyday ingredients, simple techniques, and a little extra flair to make each dish feel special, you’re in the right place. My hope is that every recipe is one you’ll be proud to share with your family and friends.

More About April
I’m the home cook, recipe developer, photographer, and cookbook author behind Girl Gone Gourmet.
I grew up eating hearty comfort food, and those familiar flavors still inspire many of the recipes I create today. I love taking classic favorites and giving them a fresh twist, often inspired by the places I’ve lived and traveled.
Before turning Girl Gone Gourmet into my full-time career, I worked in corporate sales and operations. These days you’ll usually find me in my kitchen testing recipes, behind the camera photographing them, or adding parsley to just about everything I make.
I’ve called Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and North Carolina home over the years before returning to my home state of Wyoming, where I now live with my husband and our two golden retrievers, Fisher and Hank.
Iโm so happy youโre here! Have a question, feedback, or just want to say hi? Iโd love to hear from you.
