Description
Oven-roasted broccoli is a simple and delicious side dish. The broccoli develops so much flavor in the hot oven you don’t need anything but some simple salt and pepper to dress it up.
Ingredients
- 1 pound broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Spread the florets in an even layer on a baking sheet. Drizzle the oil over the top followed by the salt. Stir the florets around to coat them evenly.
- Roast them for 15 minutes, give them a stir and then roast them for 10 to 15 minutes longer or until they are crispy in places and tender. Keep an eye on them in the last half of the cooking time as yours may need more or less time depending on your oven.
- Sprinkle the black pepper over the top and serve.
Notes
If you have leftovers, they will keep in the refrigerator for a few days. The broccoli will soften and won’t be as crisp-tender once it’s sat in the fridge, so I don’t usually make it ahead. It’s best right out of the oven.
