A refreshing cranberry smoothie with pomegranate juice that’s quick to make and enjoy after all the holiday indulgences. You only need five ingredients and five minutes to make it!
Christmas Day 2014 is now known as the day I ate and drank everything – banana bread, sausage frittata, mimosas, olives, crackers, salami, cheese, potato chips, turkey, Yorkshire puddings, mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts, potato rolls, and gravy. Oh, and chocolate – I ate my way through a giant bar while watching Skyfall. ‘Tis the season to over-indulge!
Needless to say, it’s been a very merry week eating and drinking through the holidays, but today I needed a break.
Instead of reaching for the eggs, butter, bacon, and cheese for breakfast this morning I turned to my blender and made a simple cranberry smoothie with pomegranate juice. It also has fresh orange juice, a little honey, and just a splash of half and half to balance the tartness. The result? A festive-looking sweet & tart smoothie that was a refreshing way to reset after all the holiday decadence.
If you need a little break from all the merriment, give this a try!

Cranberry Smoothie Ingredients
- Frozen cranberries
- A peeled orange cut into quarters
- Pomegranate juice (I use Pom Wonderful)
- Half and half
Blend all of the ingredients together and serve cold.
Can I use fresh cranberries instead of frozen?
I’ve only made this cranberry smoothie with frozen cranberries because I don’t add any ice. If you try fresh cranberries, you will want to add some ice otherwise the smoothie won’t be very cold.
Can I use orange juice instead of a fresh orange?
You can substitute orange juice, but you may not want to add the honey if the orange juice you use has added sugar.
